seek a direction
a sense of connection
(where) blood oughter
be thicker than water
water shallow
still and fallow
all bereft
what is there left
lost sight
need to take flight
seek a direction
sense of connection
In response to Mara Eastern’s poetry 101 rehab: Connection, currently being hosted by Andy Townend http://andytownend.com/2015/07/27/poetry-101-rehab-connection/. Inspiration, for this one, comes from the importance of connection to ego. That connection to others (family, friends), culture, history… all important in making sense of self and place. Without connection or when connections become tenuous it is so easy to lose anchor, come adrift, become lost, suffer melancholia…
SO grateful for the many and varied connections I have to the world.
An excellent contribution to the clinic!
